Server Patching Coordinator

Job Description:

• Manages end-to-end lifecycle of security updates, OS patches, and software updates across physical and virtual server infrastructures.
• Schedules maintenance windows, tests deployments, and monitors for patch failures, coordinating with system administrators to minimize downtime.
• Uses HSBC internal automation platforms (ITSP, DIGS, Ansible) for patching workflows.
• Utilizes Service Now, Omni, and CR Minion to create Change Records for production servers.
• Manages vulnerability reporting via Cyberport.

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning & Scheduling: Develop and execute patching schedules (Windows, Linux) across on-prem and cloud.
• Patch Deployment: Test, deploy, and validate patches, managing patch baselines.
• Compliance & Risk Management: Monitor and remediate security gaps to meet SLAs.
• Automation & Reporting: Build automation workflows and report on patching status/compliance.
• Troubleshooting: Resolve deployment failures, conduct RCA, and coordinate with app owners.

Qualifications & Skills:

• 3+ years’ experience in system administration (Windows/Linux) or patch management.
• Strong technical knowledge of OS and patching tools (SCCM, WSUS, Tanium, Azure Update Manager).
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and strong communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in information systems or related field.
• Understanding of IT security principles and compliance frameworks.
